Clary Sage

Herbaceous, ambery and faintly tobacco-sweet — aromatic with a wine-like warmth. A herb that thinks it's a flower.

Steam-distilled from the flowering tops of the clary plant, this oil smells green and aromatic up top with a soft, leathery, almost muscatel undertone. A staple of fougères and aromatic compositions, it adds rounded herbal complexity and a touch of sun-warmed hay. More refined and less camphorous than common sage.
