Note
Agarwood (Oud)
Dark, resinous and animalic — the most precious wood in perfumery. Smoke, leather and something almost medicinal.
Agarwood forms when the Aquilaria tree is wounded and produces a dense, fragrant resin in defense — a rare and costly raw material at the heart of Middle Eastern perfumery. As a base note it is deep, woody and complex: balsamic, leathery, faintly barnyard, endlessly long-lasting. Civilizational in its gravity, it grounds a composition like nothing else.
