Accord
Aldehydic
Sparkling, soapy, abstract — like sunlight on clean linen. The accord that made perfume modern.
An accord, not a single ingredient — built from aldehydes, a family of synthetic molecules that lift and effervesce above a composition. Fatty-waxy and almost fizzy up top, they add a starched, cool-champagne shimmer to florals and powders. The fingerprint of a certain mid-century elegance, and still the quickest way to make a fragrance smell expensive and otherworldly.
